Fifty young unemployed will practice working in the tourism sector abroad through the Leonardo Project (27/06/2012)

The Youth Council of the City of Murcia, headed by Miguel Cascales, in collaboration with the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise has launched the project 'Ibn Arabi: developing the tourism sector through the formation of young people in Europe', with the goal of 50 young Murcia perform work practices and form for almost three months in European countries.

The project is related to tourism, so that young people must be unemployed and have studies related to tourism.

This initiative will leverage the synergies and efforts that are being developed for tourism through the Tourism Promotion Plan Murcia 365, contributing to the professionalization of the sector.

May attend the call of 18 to 35 years old, registered in the municipality of Murcia, University graduates and vocational training, unemployed / as enrolled in the Employment and Training Service (SEF), with no work experience and studies Hospitality, Tourism, Design and Graphic Arts, Public Relations, Languages, Business Administration, Travel Agencies and Restoration.

The countries that will develop this project are Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, UK and Austria.

During their stay young people receive a language course of 40 hours duration and held internships in tourism industry.

This initiative is funded by the European Commission through the Leonardo initiative.

Participants will have covered the costs of accommodation, meals, travel and language course.

Is the first time that the City of Murcia is involved in the Leonardo project.

The aim is to provide training and promote mobility of young people are studying and / or unemployed, offering 50 participants the opportunity to do internships abroad in the tourism sector.

This is perfect unemployed and professionally trained in occupations related to tourism and encourage the learning of foreign languages ​​and intercultural skills, promoting mobility and employability in the tourism sector.

This project incorporates a system of evaluation and monitoring on-line, which were used for the management, exchange forum and subsequent dissemination of results.
