The University of Murcia selects candidates for the convening of EU mobility program Mare Nostrum (26/06/2012)

Representatives from universities in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Portugal, Poland, France, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania meet tomorrow, Wednesday, June 27 at the University of Murcia, to select participants in the first round of the mobility program EU-Mare Nostrum.

The project objective is mobility in multiple areas of knowledge, students (undergraduate, master's and doctoral), faculty and administrative staff and services from North Africa (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) to European universities and vice versa.

Mobilities will last between one and three months for staff and management, and between 6 and 36 months for students.

Mobility of the first call, which begins next September, will be awarded one hundred men among the 500 applications submitted.

The project, with total funding of € 3,199,450 under the European Programme Erasmus Mundus Action 2, includes a second call with a deadline for applications from January to March 2013.

The selection committee, composed of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Internationalization of the University of Murcia, Gaspar Ros, the rector of the University of Haifa (Israel), David Faraggi, and the rector of EMUNI, Joseph Mifsud, will meet in Building Soler Rector, on the campus of Espinardo.

The meeting takes place at the University of Murcia, as this is the program coordinator, who manages the Department of International Relations.

Those attending the meeting are representatives of the Moroccan universities of Moulay Ismail, Mohammed Premier, Mohammed V Souissi and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah; the Abdelhamid Ibn Badis Algerian of Mostaganem, Mouloud of Tizi-Ouzou Mammeri and des Sciences et Technologie of the d 'Oran, and the Tunisian Manouba, Gabes and Tunis.

On the European side, the Universities of Minho (Portugal), Riga Technical University (Latvia), Sciences Po Lyon (France), Institut International du Commerce et du Développement (France), Vilnius University (Lithuania), Lublin University of Technology (Poland) and Messina (Italy).
