The UCAM on the podium of university research in Spain (21/06/2012)

San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), has achieved a 80% success on the stages of investigation (six-year terms) evaluated according to the report issued by the National Commission for Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), evaluation of which has been submitted voluntarily.

It is further noted that the UCAM is in third place among private universities in number of publications per professor, according to a ranking published by the observatory Iune.

The UCAM, aware of the importance to the Spanish university system has faculty research activity, has decided to voluntarily submit to the evaluation of their research under the same quality criteria for assessing the research conducted at universities and research centers public.

For this, the San Antonio Catholic University in 2011 signed a cooperation agreement with the General Secretariat of Universities for Research Evaluation of teachers by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI).

The CNEAI is the body that evaluates the activity of researchers from universities and national public research centers, following the specific criteria for each of the areas of assessment, the BOE, recognizing what is usually termed as' sexenios research '.

The rector of Research of the UCAM, Estrella Nunez, said that "the recognition of these stages of research indicates that the Catholic University of Murcia is working hard in the field of research, and is producing publications of international impact. All these indicators show that the UCAM is positioning itself among the top in all the private universities in research in Spain. "
