Veterinary for a few days (20/06/2012)

For five days, students in fourth of the ESO and Baccalaureate will first learn about the veterinary profession through workshops and activities offered by the "Summer Science Camp IV. Veterinary: animals and humans, a common health", framed in courses at the International University of Mar-Campus Mare Nostrum.

The course will enable 35 students conducted workshops and activities in the Regional Park environment Carrascoy, alternating with visits to various facilities of the University of Murcia and the Zoological Reserve Tabernas Desert, Almería, to know, from a playful and the hands of experts, the contributions of Veterinary Science to the development of humanity.

Students will learn about the different species of animals, their habits, the responsibility of the veterinarian in animal welfare and its role in public health.

Anesthesia in small animals, exotic animals as pets, beekeeping as a source of life, the characteristics of a modern zoo or diseases shared by animals and humans, will be among the topics covered in the camp, which includes visits to veterinary teaching hospital, the Farm of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine or a "visit" guided by the African savannah.

The course is run by David Christian of Faith Rodriguez and will be held from 25 to 29 June.
