"Cain & Cain": Malpelo reflects on the human duality Parraga Center (14/06/2012)

Theatre, dance and installation art are the three elements that come together in 'Cain & Cain', brand new and successful production of Malpelo which brings the actor and the painter Piero Steiner, Pep Ramis would dance and choreographer, to result in a duet high voltage stage that is based on the reality of two men who are the splitting of one.

The story of the biblical myth of Cain and Abel story is the core of the company's latest show, the number 25 and co-produced by Theatre Lliure, which may be seen in the Esp0 Parraga Center on Saturday June 16

Cain & Cain is an approximation to the idea of ​​duality.

The scenic and dramatic proposal revolves around the will of the two characters to reconstruct a story full of questions, possible versions, a fiction within the fiction in which both can be Cain, two uprooted, expelled in the middle of a desert , wondering who they are.

The scenic elements pose a desert place, white, which are projected moments of the relationship in film format.

The sound and light operate as suggestive and evocative elements of different landscapes in which the relationship takes the characters.

The text and body work are the essential tools of a work that falls largely on the interpretation of the two actors.

The complicity between them and their baggage on the scene lead to a strong show, with humor, sensitivity, and delirium fighting to get closer to some essence of human relationships.

Cain & Cain born of collaboration between Eduard Fernandez, Pep Ramis and Maria Munoz.
