Mayor Miguel Angel House, presided over yesterday the celebration of Cope Sports Awards, created by the city of Murcia and the Cadena Cope.

The awards, which recognize outstanding athletes, were given at the Teatro Circo, which for the first time since its reopening hosted an event like this.

Nicolas Almagro, who could not attend because yesterday played a match at Roland Garros, received the Award for Progression Sports, Alejandro Valverde, Overcoming, Antonio Penalver, Olympic medalist, UCAM, CAFD UCAM Volleyball UCAM Murcia CF Ranero, Advocacy Work, Mark Javier Legaz, Revelation Award, Charitable Choice Party Murcia, Real Madrid, Solidarity Gesture, Juan Ignacio Ibarra, and the Public School Our Lady of Fuensanta Beniaján, the awards were made in this first edition.
