The Councillor for Environment, Adela Martinez-Cachá, this morning delivered the awards to students who have participated in the contest drawing posters of World Environment Day.

The winners were:

-Raquel Molina

-Yassir Sabir

Each has received a tablet and a diploma.

Also, have been awarded with a bonus of 160 euros for books and diploma schools:

-Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente (Murcia)

-Our Lady of Cortes (Nonduermas)

In this event involved a total of 89 students from 7 schools.

The aim is to promote awareness and public participation in conservation and continuous improvement of the environment.

The theme of this edition is "Sustainable Energy for All '.

The jury was chaired by the Councillor for the Environment, Adela Martinez-Cachá, the graphic designer Julio Garcia April, the Dean of the College of Biologists, Herminio Picazo, the journalist Manuel Madrid Truth, the Chief of Technical Section Environment of the City of Murcia, Fuensanta Vizuete, and the Head of Environment, Carpe Francisco.

In addition, 25 schools have been recognized by Green Schools to optimize the use of resources (paper, water, energy) and minimize the potential environmental impact of their daily activities and environmentally to train and educate the entire school community to lead center management towards sustainability.

This project is framed in the Environmental Education Program of the City of Murcia.
