The Mayor opened the new building House Primary Care Centre Murcia improving health provision of 20,000 Murcia (04/06/2012)

The investment amounts to EUR 2.2 million, funded by the Autonomous Community, while the City Council gave the land to which the property was built in the district of San Juan.

The primary care network currently consists of 23 health centers and 42 clinics peripherals.

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, and the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, inaugurated this morning the new Health Centre Murcia Centre for the Health Area number VI Vega Media del Segura, who now has to 19,588 users, of whom 2,026 are children under 14 years.

For its construction, the City gave to the Autonomous Community a plot of 424 m2 between Calle Joaquin Costa and San Jose.

Meanwhile, the Autonomous Region has invested 2.2 million euros, both for work and for their provision of furniture and equipment.

This new health center, which replaces the coming serving in Simon Garcia, has 5 floors with 14 queries of Family Medicine, 11, and 2 Pediatric Nursing.

It also houses a consultation of priests and extractions and other diagnostic techniques, together with a minor surgery room.

The area consists of 1 female antenatal clinic, a multipurpose room and a social worker's office.

The 20,000 users of the new center will be staffed Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 15 hours by 13 family physicians, 2 paediatricians, 12 nurses, 3 assistant nurses, 1 midwife, y1 8 people management worker.

The new building allows the replacement of units in which so far offered the service, which had been inadequate, thus ensuring the provision of a service of high quality health care.

A network of high quality primary care

In addition to the opening of these new health facilities in the district of San Juan, is expected in the coming weeks the opening of the new office of Lobosillo, whereas the Autonomous Community, in lots donated by the City Council, is building health centers Aljucer, Floridablanca and James, and James and is planning Zaraíche and Sangonera la Verde.

Also, the City maintains its commitment to collaboration and primary health care contributing to the maintenance of peripheral referral system of the municipality, currently composed of 42 centers.
