A student of Master in Economic Development and International Cooperation Award wins Idea II Responsible for the University of Murcia (29/05/2012)

Emma Egea Fernandez del Pino, a student of Master in Economic Development and International Cooperation of the University of Murcia, has won the II Prize Idea Manager, convened by Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the educational institution.

The student has won the prize of 1,000 euros, for the paper "Corporate Social Responsibility, University of the Company" which aims to generate synergies and inter-university partnerships to form ethical people concerned and for companies to adapt their management models to CSR.

The second prize, 500 euro for the project has been "Putting a cap on the disease," Borja Alcaraz Riaño and Maria de la Luz Garcia Sanchez, scholars in the Faculty of Law, committed to allocate the funds obtained by recycling plastic caps to people suffering from rare diseases.

Have also been selected as finalists initiatives José María Moreno Banos, Elvira Medina Ruiz and María José García Gómez, among the 19 projects to promote CSR presented.

With this award, the Chair of RSC seeks to involve all actors in the University-students, teachers and administrative staff and services, in generating ideas for improvement of the economic, social and environmental impact of the institution.

In fact, the University will implement these initiatives, like the ideas finalists of the last issue.

Prizes and diplomas were delivered today at a ceremony in the building of convalescence which was chaired by the rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, who said that universities can not stand apart from the problems of society.

As proof, he referred to the efforts made by the institution to maintain and even increase the numerus clausus for the next academic year, which are increased in 118-seater, which he defined as an exercise in social responsibility.

"The University of Murcia is experiencing difficulties, but had not understood that, in these times of distress for families of students and the high unemployment rates, would have lowered the number of places," he stressed.

The ceremony, which has not gone the winner, who is working in Peru, was the rector interventions for Students and Employment, Maribel Sanchez-Mora, and the researcher of the Chair of Peter Jesus Cuestas RSC.
