College students of River Segura New Javalí have known this morning the work that the Friends of the Saharawi people in Western Sahara.
Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Barquero Alicia has participated in this activity as part of the programming of the Department during the month of May, dedicated to Africa, with the aim of spreading the work of NGOs in the municipality collaborate with the African continent.
Today is Africa Day.
The Association of Friends of the Saharawi people gives talks at schools in the municipality to raise awareness among younger members of the need to help.
The NGO was founded in 1989 to help the people of Western Sahara and its refugees.
The organization offers assistance in the fields of education, culture, food, health and water treatment, water extraction and distribution.
Since 1990 developed Holidays in Peace program, whereby children from 8 to 12 spend the summer with host families in Murcia.
This program helps the city of Murcia.
