Lorca Plans chairs the transfer of the Virgin of Arrixaca to the parish of St. Andrew]
The parish of St. Andrew and St. Mary of the Arrixaca received yesterday the image of the Virgen de la Arrixaca, recently restored, in a ceremony presided by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Bishop D.
Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, and involving several diocesan priests and members of the Royal and Ancient Brotherhood of Devotees of Saint Mary of the Arrixaca and numerous faithful.
The transfer was carried in procession from the Augustinian Monastery of the Mother, where he remained this picture after being delivered to the parish of St. Andrew by the President of the Autonomous Community, D.
Ramón Luis Valcárcel, on May 18.
From this convent, the Bishop carried the image of the ancient patron of Murcia under Palio, to the church of San Andrés.
In this temple to the Virgin received the new anthem composed verses of the "new ballad of St. Mary of the Arrixaca, Gerardo Diego poem of 1,948.
In conclusion, the parishioners were able to honor Mary with a kiss, joining in prayer before the eyes of the Blessed Virgin.
