Seminar circuit prey and hiker, this weekend with the Department of the Environment (17/05/2012)

The Department of Environment has scheduled weekend activities in the natural environment of the municipality, with which the program is closed until next fall.

All are aimed at promoting knowledge about the local environment, understanding their values ​​and conservation needs and participation in continuous improvement, in a playful and dynamic context.

During the months of May and June the Department, in cooperation with the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia, will restore jobs and improved directional signage Trails Short Route (PR) coursing through the municipal forest estate.

These actions will focus on replacing media damaged by the action of climatic agents (mainly solar radiation) and some that have been timely malicious damage.

It is intended that the signage is in good shape to guide the growing number of people practicing walking in this area ahead of the new fall season - winter as the summer heat reduces the influx of visitors could see affected by the works.

Seminar "The Region of Murcia: a paradise for birds of prey" (Saturday 19 and Sunday May 20).

Our region has a variety of raptor species, recognized at even communicate with the declaration of Special Protection Areas for Birds integrated into the European Network Natura 2000.

This seminar will enable participants to approach the characteristics of this animal group, the state and problems of their populations, in order to increase knowledge and social awareness towards conservation.

To do so, as always in these seminars will combine theory with practice: In addition to the presentations and field trips, apply simple techniques to study food habits by analyzing pellets, or observation of the remains and traces of these birds so unique.

Hours: Saturday from 10 to 17 h and Sunday from 10 to 14 h.

Environmental Guided Tour Itinerary for Walker Valley (Sunday May 20)

This Sunday the circular path that arises will pass around Cabezo Palomar.

Depart from the Visitor Center Valley towards the Ermita de San Antonio el Pobre, from there ascend to the base of the Castle of Light up to the Forest House dry.

The descent to the starting point will be made following the course of the Rambla del Valle.

The meeting place is the Visitors Center in El Valle to 9.45 h and the activity will conclude on 14 h.

Participation is free but advance registration is required by calling 968 21 25 18 (Ecopatrimonio).

And like all weekends and holidays, is open the Environmental Information Point White Majal, which will cater to visitors who come to the Mulberry Square (Construction Torreguil) and the Municipal Forest Park environment at time 9.30 to 14.30 h.

We recall that from 1 June to 15 September this Information Point will be closed.

From the Mulberry Square Tours depart several Small (PR) marked by the city of Murcia in collaboration with the Trails Committee of the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia, so many visitors requested information for hiking in the area.

Also available is a loan service of binoculars during business hours to the public.
