They are Carlos Correa and Paula Gonzalez Javier Ibáñez Benes, the first nursing student and the second of Sports Science.

Both are high-level athletes from the University of Murcia (Danum) and train daily at the Center for High Performance "Infanta Cristina" in Los Alcazares.

From 25 to 30 May will represent the University of Murcia in the university world championships Taekwondo Korea 2012.

Both practicing taekwondo from small, though probably none of them thought when he began to practice this martial art would go so far.

"It was my father who taught me the practice of this sport," said Gonzalez Correa.

Now, this nursing student is among the top four in their category-flyweight, ie athletes under 54 kilos, after having left the imprint of his skill in the sport in countries like Holland, Germany, Mexico and Turkey , which has allowed him to be subsidized by the Sports Council for these World Championships university.

Korea knows that compete with the elite not only Spanish-Spain is a true reference in this sport, but also globally, so it is not to be overly optimistic: "It will be very difficult, but be among the first in Spain is already great ".

For now, he went to Korea with the intention to "enjoy the experience and if there is a medal, great, but I do not approach it as something necessary."

Paula Benes Ibanez were the friends who, at age 9, he was encouraged to enroll in the gym and play a sport in which he was soon saw great innate qualities.

"I was winning championships, and whenever I liked."

And no wonder, has so far won all competitions in Spain universities to which has been presented, having become European Junior Champion and third sub-21.

Benes is very grateful to this sport "gives me stability, allowed me to make many friends and seeing the world."
