Murcia Circus Theatre brings this Thursday, May 17, the show Flamenco Hoy, the first live work led by the great Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura, award-winning and nominated in every major film festivals like Cannes, Berlin, Montreal and San Sebastian, and includes several Oscar nominations.
The show will take place on Thursday, May 17, at 21 hours.
The price of seats is 30, 26 and 22 euros.
For this staging Saura has broadcast more than 20 artists from the new generation, all fully talented and well known in their fields, showing a live show, bright, full of strength and energy.
The dance, consisting of eleven excellent dancers, whose energetic choreography created by the genius of Rafael Estévez and Nani cloths, appears with its many deep-rooted traditions developed over the centuries and its use of new genres such as jazz and contemporary.
The song is represented by four outstanding singers who interpret the compositions and arrangements of Chano Dominguez, internationally renowned Spanish pianist and several times nominated for a Grammy and five great musicians who, along with virtuoso guitarist Antonio Rey, winner National Guitar in three categories, complete the stage musical.
Flamenco Hoy leaves no one indifferent.
Flamenco Today brings together the Nanas, Sevillanas, Tangos, peteneras, farrucas, bolts, fandangos, Guajira, Malaga, seguiriyas, soleares, zambras, joys, bulerías, and all through the eyes of Carlos Saura, imbuing the work with its special conception of light and space, rhythm and movement.
The tenacity constant applied by choreographers Rafael Estévez and Nani drapes, along with their bottomless knowledge of the history of flamenco, with its current lineup including classical ballet and contemporary dance offers a rich expressiveness very difficult to replicate, and will remain in the public mind, forever changing their concept of what flamenco is able to offer today.
