New corporate image, presence on social networks and new website are some of the improvements

The City of Murcia's determined commitment to tourism and industry conferences, meetings and events to generate employment and wealth.

The Department of Tourism has increased by 50% the budget of the Convention Bureau, from 60,000 to 90,000 euros, which together with the contribution of business tourism and services sector as part of the Association of Members Collaborating Office Congress will have a budget of 153,000 euros this year.

Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, recalled that with the increase of the budget may increase the commercial work of the Convention Bureau in the immediate environment, enhance business opportunities and give more visibility to the Office within the sector.

It aims to attract more conferences and meetings in order to create jobs and benefit the undertakings Murcia.

This initiative is part of the Tourism Promotion Plan 'Murcia 365'.

Congress tourism, events and meetings in the municipality had an economic impact last year of 36.2 million euros.

1,128 meetings were held in Murcia, with a total of 174,046 attendees.
