The IU-Green spokesman in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, said today the "most effective and inexpensive" to manage the bus service is the municipalization of it.
Herguedas was speaking after meeting the economic proposals of companies looking to manage the service, calling for a municipal subsidy between 28 and 57 million euros.
In his view, these figures "are much higher than what you pay today and demolish the claims of the Transport council felt that the new provision should be self-financing."
He assured that the direct municipal bus service "would return to the municipality's autonomy in mobility, which does not have to depend on the interests of the concessionaire."
It has also indicated that the municipalization "is the choice made by those councils in what works best public transport, and also coincides with a commitment to this mode of transport relative to private vehicles, which is far from the current policy of the session ".
