Six arrested in the registration of three brothels in Cartagena and Santa Pola (02/05/2012)

Captured women in their countries of origin and once in Spain, were sexually exploited in semi exclavitud

They were forced to reside in a garage and sell drugs to their customers

National Police agents have broken up an organization dedicated to human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

In the operation have been arrested six people, natives of Romania, Ukraine and Spain, and have made three records in brothels in Cartagena (Murcia) and Santa Pola (Alicante).

Captured their wives in their home countries for exploitation in our country in conditions of semi exclavitud.

They were forced to reside in the garage of a house and sell drugs to their customers.

Research on this group began two months ago, when officers from the Immigration and Border Provincial de Murcia found that several women were being sexually exploited in an apartment located in Cartagena.

The investigations were carried out on those responsible for these events, allowed to know who were part of an organized group also ran a second story of the same characteristics in the same city and a third in the Alicante town of Santa Pola.

Furthermore, it was learned that the activities of members of the organization went beyond mere sexual exploitation of women working in brothels, as were also dealing with the young recruit in their countries of origin and to organize their arrival in Spain.

Forced to live in a garage and sell drugs

During the operation it was found that the lives of women captured by the organization passed in conditions close to slavery, with strict rules including the requirement to sleep in the garage of a villa where the organization had provided a facility to effect provided with bunks.

They were also obliged to offer and sell narcotics to their customers, who kept in touch with them through ads in newspapers and Internet contacts.

Within the story, all activities were controlled by a circuit cameras connected to video surveillance which is accessed from the home of the leader of the Organization.

There have been three homes used as brothels and address of the two heads of the organization.

These sites have involved 700 euros in cash, a .22 caliber rifle, small amounts of narcotics, 10 laptops, 5 cameras and a video surveillance camera video.

All women who worked for the plot were interviewed by agents specialized police units acting for the timely offering of shares also were given information on various support organizations and social rehabilitation and on the possibilities offered by the current Law on Aliens people in your situation.

The detainees are charged with crimes in a criminal organization integration, human trafficking, the rights of workers and foreign nationals, relating to prostitution and to public health.

The operation was conducted by officers from the Provincial Immigration and Border Murcia, in collaboration with the Aliens and Borders brigades of Cartagena and Alicante and Murcia Labour Inspectorate.
