The Secondary School is now Fleet Green School (31/01/2012)

This award, which values ​​the school community's commitment to the environment, has been awarded to 18 sites

The Secondary School Fleet, located in the Paseo Ciscar Gabriel, is in luck because today is Green School.

The center participates, from 2008-2009, in this program and over the years have worked very actively on issues related to noise, waste and energy savings.

To achieve this award students and teachers, environmental educators advised by the Department of Environment of the City of Murcia, have carried out activities aimed at achieving improved environmental management of their school.

In his green dot located at the main entrance, report regularly on the campaigns and environmental education activities carried out.

It should be noted a permanent exhibition of "10 eco-standards" to make the center more sustainable, a contest of "class cleaner," national participation in a program to collect ink cartridges and toners, or the " spaces clean and free of noise "to which, among others, have developed a noise map of the center and then have reported the negative effects of excessive noise.

For the collection of waste containers have been placed throughout the center and have installed signs, banners and decorated with environmental messages, such as recycling, no shouting, no littering, etc ...

With student volunteers have launched the Green Patrol, who are responsible and ensure that waste is recycled well and the yard is clean after the recess.

This also, with the remaining oil from the dining room and kitchen module have developed homemade soap, wrapped with the logo of the center.

The Green Schools Project, included in the Environmental Education Program of the City of Murcia, intends to conduct an environmental audit scheme schools.

The main objectives are to optimize the use of resources (paper, water, energy) and minimize the potential environmental impact of their daily activity and, finally, environmental training and educating the entire school community to lead the center's management towards sustainability.

The Green Schools program is not just an environmental audit, but must be understood as a great opportunity to work teaching environmental education where players become students, faculty, and staff of a self-evaluation.

This method allows you to reflect on the consequences of individual and collective acts of consumption and use of resources, identify ways to make improvements in the immediate environment and enable them to decision making in environmental management of the center.

The project is so important quantitative improvements (efficient resource management, improved facilities, etc..) And qualitative (concepts and attitudes).

This year marks the eleventh edition of the project that started in the school year 2001-2002.

Since the implementation of this program to date have involved a total of 51 colleges and institutes ranging from kindergarten to high school.

Those who have managed to meet environmental and educational goals scored, have been honored with the award "Green Schools" in recognition of his work.

Since the program began have already been awarded 18 centers.
