A round table was requested to carry out the necessary actions to control illegal settlements (27/01/2012)

Establish a monthly action plan to prioritize interventions in settlements where there are minor or that pose a health or safety problem

Councilwoman Safety and Human Resources, Nuria Fuentes has called this morning to service technicians of Health, Planning, Local Police and Social Services announced the creation of the Bureau of Labor Assistance and Monitoring of illegal settlements.

The aim with this desk is that of a body that control these settlements, protect minors if any, and avoid unhealthy and insecurity problems affecting both members of these settlements as neighbors.

The first assignment is to conduct an accurate census of existing settlements in the municipality (location, number of people, characteristics ...).

These settlements will be evicted following guidelines and prioritizing and those with children and those who pose a health or safety.

In slum settlements in the municipality will follow the following plan of action:

- Location

- Identification of people

- Health inspection

- Identification of a property owner if private, cadastral information, the census and Tribugest

- Notification to the settlers that they must vacate (usually given within 48 hours)

- Notice to holders who are required to put the plot, cleaned and fenced.

In the event that the eviction will not occur voluntarily, the court will request authorization to do it automatically.

According to the councilman, Nuria Fuentes, the committee "will meet monthly to set priorities and to re-locate the various settlements and which vary continually."

At this meeting it was decided that the next settlements to be the act will be the Feedlot Lane and the former Churra Road, where there is conflict high, low and lower health.

Yesterday people were settled under the bridge that connects the highway with the road to El Palmar left the area voluntarily.

This settlement was made by people who were evicted in a building structure of St. Pius about a month ago.

Also last week, another settlement was evicted on Avenida Almirante Loaysa, where he already got the voluntary evacuation of a settlement last April.
