The Commissioner Duran Guerrero Cirilo, new police chief of Murcia (25/01/2012)

The police chief has presided over the inauguration of the new paramount chief in which he highlighted the fight against illegal immigration as one of the five key challenges

25-Jan-2012 .- The Director General of Police, Ignacio Cosidó, today presided over the inauguration of the new police chief of Murcia, Cyril Commissioner Duran Guerrero.

A ceremony also attended the government delegate in the autonomous region, Joaquín Bascuñana.

Cosidó in his speech highlighted the five key challenges for the coming years, including dealing with illegal immigration networks and noted that "the fight against trafficking in human beings is central to the defense of fundamental rights and dignity human ".

During the past year, agents have dismantled 13 groups linked to human trafficking and arrested 334 individuals in the Region of Murcia.

The police chief also visited this morning the local police station Lorca and recognized the "collaboration and coordination in the reconstruction of the town" after the earthquake last May, developed by the servants employed in this template and whose work was vital after the disaster.

Five challenges

Cosidó Ignacio pointed out that there are many challenges that the National Police faces in the coming years, including five highlighted, including illegal immigration.

Another challenge is the fight against organized crime, a "problem of global dimensions and that exceeds the territorial limits and boundaries."

Murcia's geographical position makes this region a point of attraction for transnational networks of organized crime.

During the past 2011, the National Police have dismantled 17 organized groups and arrested 318 people linked to these networks.

In addition, Cosidó has also alluded to the fight against ETA terrorism jihad, or social security.

Duran Guerrero

The new chief commissioner top is from December 2008 with a degree in Political Science and Sociology.

Until now serving as head of the Commissariat of Moncloa-Aravaca in Superior Chief of Madrid and was also chief of brigade in the General Information Office from December 2008 to May 2011.

Cosidó stressed "their professionalism and track record to help you face the important challenge currently assumed."

Higher headquarters in Murcia are for 805 agents, distributed in the headquarters, the five dependent local police, the border of San Javier airport and the Center for Foreigners.
