The City Council allocates more than 192,000 euros to projects working with children and adolescents (18/01/2012)

The contributions are aimed at training school workshops, conferences, courses, leisure ...

Within the broad support programs that are conducted through the Social Services City of Murcia, employees of the Department of Health and Social Welfare, which runs María del Carmen Pelegrin, the Governing Board gave the green light this morning to grant aid amounting to 192,400 euros.

In total they have been given the green light to a total of eleven projects to undertake during 2012 and are as follows:

- Support for children and adolescents.

Promote through leisure attitudes of respect for difference, tolerance towards others, multiculturalism, gender equality, respect the environment and peaceful coexistence among equals and the critical capacity, and promote the participation of children in the methodology development and activities that develop.

- Office of Volunteerism.

The Office currently has with 52 active volunteers working in different districts that belong to the center.

The tasks that are primarily educational support, support both at home and in homes for the elderly, hospital accompaniment to minors, household support in caring for children, assistance in finding housing, various demarches and so on.

- Extra-curricular activities.

Table Football Workshop for Rosales, Futsal workshop The Rosal, aller Cup in Beniaján, Extramural workshop Aljucer Insertion, support for summer school of the Rosales.

- Workshops on family formation.

The objectives of these workshops are to prevent situations of social exclusion and promote integration situations favoring social-cultural-economic-labor, and provide strategies for families to cope with various problems leveraging resources and encouraging the maximum use of resources area.

- Acting with children.

During 2012, has planned the following actions: Significant Dates Activities, Child Access to complementary assets, and intercultural workshops in schools.

- Community Intervention.

The "Project Activities Significant Dates" takes place annually from the CMSS.

"Ciudad de Murcia" to be held in the various neighborhoods and districts of activities of the Centre, contents that correspond to those dates, making them centers of interest in activities that are conducted mainly with the children's collective, although not exclusive.

- The Project for young people with special educational needs through play sports, leisure and so on.

The aim was to encourage the participation of these children in municipal activities and would enhance the integration and coexistence between youth from different contexts.

- In young key.

Incorporation of complementary activities under leisure.

This project is part of the work developed by the Center to prevent situations of marginalization and promote social inclusion processes.

Support and complement the formal education process of children and adolescents, especially in compulsory education, developing educational activities within the framework of attention to diversity in relation to the difficulties of inclusion of children and adolescents, and where appropriate, take out affirmative action to the attention of the specific integration needs in schools and community and the avoidance of absenteeism, dropout and failure rates.

- Promotion of volunteerism.

This project consists of two actions: first, the promotion of social and voluntary participation and on the other hand, the promotion of self-help through the instrument of the time bank.

This second action must be added that, although so far, self-help was the main objective, with the latest changes to the project has opened the line also aims to promote through the time bank managed by the Social Services Centre Murcia North supportive of voluntary actions to emergency situations and coming diagnosed by UTS.

This is the project of "Hours in solidarity" which later developed.

- Community action on significant dates to childhood.

This project is part of the programming of the Municipal Center of Social Services City of Murcia in order to provide, especially to the children's collective, activities in various districts to commemorate dates such as Children's Day, Day of the Book, Cultural Encounters, Christmas.

- Occupational Hall, in collaboration with the Department of Education.

To prevent and control truancy among children under 15 years of age is the goal to be achieved through occupational class.

Truancy is a phenomenon that continues to produce and detect in schools, although the causes generating it are not always the same, always being complex and unfavorable conditions of a family nature, economic and sociocultural are common among this type of students.
