Rosario Heras Celemín explained during his speech that the CIEMAT is a public research body under the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, development-oriented R & D + i in Energy, Environment and Technology, the promotion of sustainable development, and to increase the quality of life of citizens through the generation and application of scientific knowledge.
The physics expert has stated that "in Spain, since 1986, have made great strides in energy efficiency and analysis for building and urban development projects materialized in R + D + i for energy efficiency in buildings and urban , support for energy-efficient design of buildings, systems rehabilitation and new construction, and monitoring and evaluation of building energy usage in real conditions. "
Celemín Heras has also referred to current energy challenges, political and technological building sector and highlighted including reduced energy demand in new and rehabilitated buildings, the integration of renewable energies in Architecture, and decreased consumption for thermal conditioning through the development of bioclimatic architecture.
