The veterinary and animal nature park Terra Natura Murcia has implemented a medical treatment to cure an ear infection that has one of the wolves (Canis lupus signatus) in the herd that resides in the complex.
Caregivers noted that the specimen named Denise, had an attitude of apathy and behavior began to be alert as usual shaking and tilting his head frequently.
After a scan, veterinarians found that the wolf had an infection in his right ear, although it is rare in animals with erect ears, could occur following a clash between the different members of the herd.
As explained caregivers Murcia Terra Natura, "it is normal that different wolves try to create dominance in the group, since they are governed by a hierarchy in which there is the role of alpha male and female."
After making the recognition and diagnosis, the veterinarian has carried out an ear cleaning with disinfectant solutions, a topical and systemic treatment with antibiotics and painkillers that will last for seven days, with those waiting to transmit the infectious process.
