Over 11,000 people will benefit from the Social Integration Program for Local Immigrants, which develops the Department of Social Welfare of the City of Murcia.
Primarily this means working on two lines, the reception and integration of the immigrant population, especially families, and educational support for children.
This project provides for the hiring of 23 professionals, educators and social workers to work with immigrants in finding housing and employment, social services, care of basic needs, leisure activities for children, foster homes for convalescents, provide grants to organizations working with immigrants, children's summer camps, school absenteeism, and so on.
In the municipality there are more than 60,500 immigrants.
This program will directly benefit over 11,000 people, of which over 9,000 women and 2,000 men.
Of the total, more than 9,000 participating in the program for reception and integration, and about 2,000 children engaged in educational effort.
