Promotion of the brand 'Murcia' (19/12/2011)

The Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism, headed by Miguel Cascales, has a budget of 23.6 million euros for next year.

Among the main priorities is to facilitate the sport to all residents of the municipality, provide alternatives for young people to improve their language and have easier access to a job and improve tourist information offered of Murcia, boosting tourism promotion.

The Department of Sports will have a budget of 19,200,000 euros, being among the Spanish cities allocated more money to the sport, about 95 euros / person.

The main objective of the Sports is to bring the sport to all citizens, promoting the sport base and maintain the municipality between the main Spanish cities in number and quality of sports facilities.

More than 100,000 Murcia participate in any of the municipal programs offered by the Municipality of Murcia.

The municipality has 425 sports facilities, among which are 32 pavilions, 47 soccer fields, 18 swimming pools and 21 pools in summer.

Murcia is the municipality with the largest number of sports facilities per population, ranking the first in the country in number of people football fields, one for every 8570 inhabitants, and also leading the ranking of wards by population, with one for every 11,500 people.

Murcia has 1,127,535 meters square of sports facilities.

School sport activities have a budget of 204,000 euros, with a participation of 70,196 children and 172 agencies and schools.

In the 105 municipal sports schools 23,137 students practice 25 different sports disciplines.

Also, Sports continue to offer quality facilities and 5.3 million euros earmarked for this purpose, the maintenance of sports facilities and teaching programs.

46,800 people practice some of the 104 different sporting activities offered by the City Council in swimming pools, sports halls and rooms.

Sports program will be allocated 1,225,000 euros.

Another alternative is Inacua sports centers, Head of Torres, CD-Verdolay fleet, which have a budget of 4.6 million euros and more than 20,000 users.

In terms of projects for next year, Sports expanded with the construction of new outdoor sports facilities in Santiago and Zaraiche, Espinardo Beniaján, El Raal and James.

Boost to Congress and tourist information

Youth policies to facilitate access to a job

The Youth Council are intended to provide policies to facilitate access to a job to the young.

More than 105,000 youth have participated in programs or activities offered by the Youth Council.

Leisure Networks continues to remain as an exemplary program of entertainment for young people.

In 2011 took part in the activities offered around 20,000 people.

Will continue in 2012 with the Youth Integration project in Murcia, which began in 2009.

Collaborate in this initiative more than 70 youth organizations, involved 200 volunteers and 10,000 people.
