The City Council is committed to maintaining the quality of public schools in the municipality, to facilitate the reconciliation of family and work and fight against truancy

Murcia City Council is committed to education and quality facilities for students in the municipality.

In the area of ​​education which includes education services, kindergartens, libraries, and Truancy Reconciling Work and Family Life in 2012 will have a budget of 17.1 million euros.

This figure, similar to last year, demonstrates the commitment of the City of Murcia with Education.

Education service will count toward next year with a budget of EUR 9,232,000 to be allocated to sustain the programs already in place as' Know your city ',' Education in values, "Driver Education and Safety Program leisure that includes camps and activities during holiday periods.

Of these programs benefit about 72,000 school, Primary, Secondary and High School.

Also call for subsidies for Associations of Mothers and Fathers of the municipality, participates in projects like the Urban Plan and Educating Cities.

For next year the following works are planned and maintenance work in municipal schools:

-Pruning and phytosanitary treatment in 117 schools, representing 5602 6395 cypress trees and vines.

-Repair and replacement of shutters, windows and bearings in 117 schools.

-Supply of 552,000 liters of diesel in 145 natural gas deposits in 4 schools.

-Cleaning of 208,365 meters square of public schools, of which 9,800 square meters are for eating.

-Maintenance and alarm connection

-Prevention and control of legionellosis

Regular maintenance, minor repairs

-Urgent repairs

-Monitoring, cleaning patios, irrigation, trees, detection of cracks, etc..

In 2011 there have been repairs and maintenance work in 34 public schools in the municipality, with an investment of 300,000 euros.

Likewise, there have been works in five schools, amounting to 176,000 euros, funded by the City Council and the General Directorate of Educational Planning and Management of the Ministry of Education.

To these works must be added the sockets paint classrooms every school child with a budget of 33,000 euros, and painting and graffiti removal.

The budget for nursery schools in 2012 is about 3,560,000 euros.

The town has seven municipal nursery schools and offers 500 seats, for ages 3 months and two years.

Of the total seats, 40 are for children with special educational needs.

Already completed the expansion work of the Infant School Place (The palm), which has built a new playground of 800 square meters.

Next year will continue with the maintenance and improvement of these facilities to provide quality facilities, to cooperate with families in educating small and promoting the reconciliation of work and family life.

In addition, the Children Schools participate in a program to ensure own health quality menus.

Paragraph for the Reconciliation of Work and Family Life will be allocated 476,500 euros, with the aim of continuing the activities and services provided by centers Juan Carlos I and Bacons Bridge.

These two centers offer more than 400 places for children and adolescents.

These two areas will join in 2012 Zarandona Conciliation Centers and Head of Torres, who will offer a total of 150 places by children from 0 to 12 years, Nursery School and School holidays.

The prevention, control and monitoring of school absenteeism is part of the activity developed by the Department of Education.

For 2012 is allocated a budget of 1,610,500 euros, with the goal of keeping the two occupational classes that are in El Palmar (hotel) and Espinardo (mechanical).

Likewise, keep the school reinforcement project on families, developed in collaboration with the Volunteer Service, University of Murcia.

In the Library service, the budget is 2,231,000 euros.

During 2012 will keep all activities as storytelling, meetings with authors and book clubs.

In 2011 it has set up the library of St. James the Greater, adding to the Municipal Library Network, which already has 17 centers.

During the first quarter of next year, residents of La Alberca will enjoy the new library as it is planning to move from the old to the new headquarters, located in the new pool.

In short, this budget will allow the City of Murcia continue to provide all services with the same quality that until now has been taking place.

As well as keeping the effort on educational and social policy involves the maintenance of an extensive network of public schools and Primary Schools, Children, Libraries and Conciliation Centers in order to improve the quality of life children Murcia.
