The City Council initiates proceedings to evict the 60 people who live in subhuman conditions in St. Pius X (16/12/2011)

The residents of the district have complained on several occasions fights and altercations

Planning Services, Health, Local Police and Social Services will form a technical committee to begin the process to allow the removal of an existing settlement in a structure of a private building located in San Pio, have agreed as Councilwoman Security, Nuria Fuentes and the headman of St. Pius X, Clemente Garcia.

There live about 60 people, including children, in unsanitary conditions.

In addition, residents of the district on several occasions denounced continued fighting and bickering that occur in the settlement, thereby harming the public interest as they make this area an unsafe place.

Thus, the City Council, aware of this situation on numerous occasions tried to contact the owner.

When not possible, the City Council has decided to step forward and act on its own by this commission and it will be necessary to report the situation to the judge who is in charge of authorizing the eviction order to ensure the welfare of these people and health and safety of this area.
