The University of Murcia and Santander have signed an agreement by which the financial institution earmarked 420,000 euros for training activities, research and cultural educational institution.

Banco Santander, under the agreement, will support programs to enhance research activity at the University of Murcia, as pre-doctoral fellowships to facilitate the incorporation of young researchers, doctoral and post.

The agreement will also serve to strengthen the programs of international mobility of students of the institution Murcia: ILA Scholarship to study at American universities, scholarships for mobility of teachers and students in Asian universities and Erasmus.

Digitization of old collections of the University of Murcia and the doctoral theses for free availability is one of the issues addressed in the agreement signed today at the Faculty of Economics and Business by the Rector, José Antonio Cobacho, and general manager and director of Banco Santander Santander Universities Global Division, José Antonio Villasante.

The signatories, who visited the Old Fund to the General Library, expressed their willingness to collaborate with the project Miguel de Cervantes Virtual Library for these funds can be released from this library.

Villasante said that Santander's commitment to the University of Murcia has led since 1997 a figure in excess of EUR 7 million contribution.

The partnership agreement will be in shares of the Campus of Excellence project and activities Mare Nostrum International University of the Sea and technological cooperation to improve the efficiency of academic and administrative management.

Another item included in the agreement is to support the Employment Observatory of the University, in order to analyze the employment of graduates and the main labor market demands.

During the signing ceremony, were presented credentials to the 43 students at the University of Murcia scholarship with ILA mobility program.
