Austerity, promoting economic growth, create employment and improve social services for Murcia are the basis of the Draft Budget for 2012 (15/12/2011)

Team of the City Government of Murcia has prepared a draft budget for 2012 based on a series of basic principles are: austerity and stability, the development of initiatives to promote economic growth and job creation in the municipality and improving the quality of social services offered to citizens and the development of sustainable actions.

The consolidated budget of the Municipality of Murcia totals of 410, 4 million, down 2% this year than the present.

The main actions of the budget for 2012 will focus on:

- Reduce Debt per capita, compared to € 397 431 2011; principle of tax fairness, if we contribute everyone-we all pay, maintenance of fiscal effort with bonuses to families, entrepreneurs and groups of special protection, more jobs, better quality of social services programs to promote health, sustainable mobility and better public transport, sustainable development (over 2,500 hectares of forest parks), improvements and renovations in neighborhoods and districts; modernization of the administration, improvement of educational programs , and productive investment to create jobs (more than 3093 direct jobs and 3,179 indirect jobs).

Income.

Murcia City Council will have a current income of 367,929,582 euros.

In order to ensure the contribution of all citizens to support public expenditure, the City of Murcia will implement a new system of telematic management of income, which will be based on graphical information management and integration territorial with the municipal urban planning.

Due to the territorial base of income (IBI, ICIO, IVTM, garbage, etc..) The new system will enable integrated management of a single administrative record quickly and efficiently.

This will reduce paperwork, with positive to the citizen and the administration.

The effort to manage earnings to offset the reduction comes from the contributions of State and the Community fell by 15%, meaning 17.7 million euros less than in fiscal 2011.

Expenses.

Current expenditure of the Municipality of Murcia for 2012 is estimated at 325,317,528 euros, of which 70% will be allocated to basic services and social protection.

The difference between current revenue and current expenditure will get a gross saving of 42,612,054 euros, which will cover the remaining debt and cash of 2010 a total of 26,611,634 euros, generating a net savings current of 16 million euro investment will go to the section, amounting to a total of 48,963,526 euros.

Among the most important investments are the following:

- Second phase of the coastal

- Construction of doctors in Rincon de Seca and Zeneta

- Environmental improvements, which include the environmental and renewable energy cluster.

Indebtedness.

The City of Murcia reduced to EUR 15.2 million debt in 2012, and that next year will pay for long-term credit of 25.2 million euros, and only 10 million euros renegotiated.

The debt, to December 31, 2012 will be 176.8 million euros compared to 192 million euros, which will end the current year.

The debt per capita will to 397.3 euros (EUR 431.6 of the current) and will not run out of margin debt very important to tackle the big projects of the legislature.
