The PSOE allocate the remaining poses no justification to grant aid for AMPAS to encourage the recycling of textbooks (07/12/2011)

Councilwoman Susan Hernández City Council proposes to open a line of subsidies for Federations and Associations of Parents of Students undertake programs of textbook loans to the amount of 26,717 euros for aid granted in previous years and have been voided because they were not justified.

The PSOE mayor explained that the Board of Governors on Nov. 2 57 records agreed to revoke grants to associations of 48 schools in the municipality for the years 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 for not complying with the requiring the notice requirements.

Following this decision, Hernandez believes that the 26,717 euros must be reinvested back into public education support, since the subsidy earmarked by the City Hall at AMPAS has been cutting up to 29,210 euros to look at the current course.

Therefore, the mayor recalled that last July the House of the Socialist Group filed a motion requesting a specific item for partnerships that encourage the recycling of textbooks, and which was rejected by the PP.

"Now, after the discovery of this remnant with an almost similar background to the grant of this year, we have the opportunity to help mothers and parents associations to launch the book bank for the next course in their schools, especially in a difficult economic context, where many families are forced to juggle to make ends meet, "he concludes.
