The University of Murcia has inaugurated a large photovoltaic plant, following the granting of surfaces in buildings and parking decks university, which will represent an equivalent electrical energy production of the annual consumption of 1,146 homes.
The project, whose period of execution of the works have understood from April to September 2011y included three lots that correspond to the different areas where they have installed solar panels, has been promoted by the University of Murcia through public tender state-owned land under concession awarded Enersun G9 and Alter.
These facilities are included in the draft Sustainable Campus of the University of Murcia for the promotion of renewable energies and energy savings, as noted by the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Infrastructure, Antonio Calvo-Flores in the opening ceremony, who chaired the rector, Jose Antonio Cobacho, attended by representatives of the company and the Director General of Industry, Energy and Mines, Pedro Jimenez Momper.
In exchange for the farm for 24 years, the University of Murcia will receive an annual fee of 7% which may involve extra income over the operation of the facilities of more than 1.8 million euros, according to forecasts estimated the project.
The plates also mean a clear environmental benefit in reducing encryption 1,500 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to annual electricity consumption of 1,146 homes.
The overall project includes three lots that correspond to different areas where they have installed photovoltaic panels.
The lot one, which refers to works for the placement of decks at the Faculty of Computer Science, Optics, Fine Arts and the parking area, represents an investment of three million euros.
The batch two, located on the North Classroom Building, the Faculty of Psychology and Social Center parking University, has made 1.8 million euros, while the lot three, located on the lot and the School of Labor and Social Work, an investment of 1.6 billion euros.
The investment made by Alter Ener Sun, the group of successful bidders, has been more than seven million euros, at no cost to the University.
Sol 9 and the University of Murcia have led the project, Siemens Industry has supplied equipment and G9 has been responsible for the execution of the installation.
The University serves a triple purpose: the dissemination of such initiatives, the promotion of research on this technology and application of renewable energy devices on their path to the horizon known as sustainable.
On the occasion of the inauguration, has announced the charging point for electric vehicles in collaboration with ARGEM is installed in the parking photovoltaic University Social Centre, available free to all university students using electric vehicles.
