Workshops and educational sessions in 30 schools in the municipality for students to learn more about the European Union (25/11/2011)

Murcia City Council is launching a new edition of the project "Europe in the Schools.

European 2.0 ', which includes the holding of workshops and educational sessions in thirty schools in the municipality so that students know the European Union in a practical, simple and entertaining.

This initiative, the Department of Education, which directs Maria Dolores Sanchez, and the Department of Emleo and European Programmes, José María Tortosa, is for students in grades 5 and 6 grade, with her goal that through working group and with a specially designed for them to discover the origin of the European Union, its institutions, the different areas of Community policies and the main rights and benefits that accrue to countries that are members.

Workshops will be developed 30 and 30 didactic sessions in 30 schools in the municipality of Murcia, in the first half of 2012, according to the school program of each school.

The result of these workshops will be presented on May 9, Europe Day, and there will be a contest related to the knowledge learned in the development of the workshops.

Murcia is one of the Spanish capital with greater presence in Europe through various programs and initiatives that promote and advance along with other cities.

The project "Europe in the Schools.

European 2.0 ', students will learn the origins of Europe, know the figure of Robert Schuman, the driving force behind Europe and currency symbols of the EU, the European Constitution, the governing bodies of the European Union, Murcia Rights and Freedoms in Europe .

The budget for this activity is of 11,600 euros.

Colleges of Murcia in addition to the more than 4,000 primary schools and secondary schools across Europe to spend part of their educational program to explore Europe with contests, exhibitions, debates, meetings, conferences and online dialogues between students of different countries and local dignitaries, national or international.
