The University of Murcia organizes a conference on domestic violence (24/11/2011)

The University of Murcia has organized tomorrow, Friday, November 25, a conference on violence, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women.

The conference, which is promoted by the Unit for Equality between Women and Men of the University in collaboration with the Young Lawyers Association and the Ministry of the Presidency, was opened at 9:00 am in the lounge of degrees of the Faculty of Law, Merced campus.

The opening lecture (at 9:30) will be in charge of the magistrate of Court No. 2 of Violence against Women in Murcia, Fatima Saura, who will discuss the results of the Organic Act on Integrated Protection Measures against Gender Violence in the seven year period.

Then, at 10:45 hours, the professor of the Faculty of Psychology Concha López Soler will talk about psychological intervention with children exposed to domestic violence.

After the conference, has scheduled a round table (12:15 hours) to discuss the prevention and care provided to women victims of gender violence.

The day will end at the Lecture Hall of the Merced campus (Classroom Antonio Soler) with the projection, and subsequent conversation, the film "Antonia," whose theme is violence against women.

It will be from 17:00.

In addition, the School of Psychology screened throughout the day, in a North Lecture hall (Espinardo campus), a video of the same theme to raise awareness of this social scourge.

The video is played repeatedly and very high volume in a classroom with walls lined with cardboard, which action is to call attention to this problem.
