Pelegrin and Barquero presiding Municipal Monitoring Commission on Gender Violence (21/11/2011)

With the participation of professional associations, the National Police and associations fighting for equality

Councilmember Health and Social Welfare, María del Carmen Pelegrin, and Councilwoman Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero have chaired this morning's meeting the City Commission of Domestic Violence Monitoring Report, which are part permanently the Department of Education, Youth, Employment and the City of Murcia.

The purpose of this Committee, which was established in 2004, is to analyze the situation of violence against women in the municipality of Murcia and to propose and coordinate, at the municipal level, measures aimed at prevention, care and efforts to eradicate of violence against women.

The fight against gender violence, awareness of the population, proposing measures to prevent and address domestic violence victims are some of the purposes of this commission.

At the meeting this morning talked about the work of Municipal Service Team to Violence against Women (EMAVI) of the City of Murcia, the activities to be undertaken on the occasion of International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women , held on Friday November 25, the training courses and information for the prevention of violence against women for municipal staff working in customer service, in which 214 people participated, and training courses teachers and students of the School of Education and Employment Initiatives City Hall, attended by 55 people.

The Commission consists of:

-Councillor of Health and Social Welfare, María del Carmen Pelegrin.

-Councillor of Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero.

-Councillor or representative Youth Area of ​​the City of Murcia.

-Councillor or representative of the Education of the City area.

-Councillor or representative of the security area.

-Councillor or representative of the area of ​​employment.

'Five Movements and representatives of women associations in the municipality of Murcia and other social groups of interest in the field of violence.

-A representative of each of the following professional associations:

* Bar, Shift, Gender Violence.

* College of Psychologists, Time Gender Violence.

* A representative of the Association of Graduates in Social Work, Time of Gender Violence.

- A representative of the field of primary health care.

-A representative from Family Service of the National Police.

-A representative of the Civil Guard EMUME Service.

-A representative of the Local Youth Council.

-Two representatives of the Technical Team of the Department of Social Welfare and Promotion of Equality, nominated for the purpose and tasks that will have support and technical advice of the Committee.
