The work of Local Fire and Police to minimize the problems caused by the storm (21/11/2011)

About 175 troops from both bodies work from 3 am to avoid further damage

One hundred police officers and 75 troops Local Service Fire Fighting and Rescue have been working since around 3 am to minimize the impact caused by the storm tonight.

It has also been told at all times with the collaboration of Public Roads, Aguas de Murcia, Decentralization and street cleaning.

The areas most affected were the Avenida Juan de Borbon y Juan Carlos I, the road from Alicante, Espinardo Churra, Ronda Sur and La Raya, among others.

In total we have counted about 60 people trapped in damaged vehicles around forty or trapped in the rain, in places like the boardwalk Espinardo roundabout Grossa Island (in the national 301), on the road to Santa Catalina or on the road to Puebla de Soto to La Raya.

The roads and avenues that had to be closed to traffic for the formation of large pools have been:

Major incidents have been:

2.55 pm: Half of the hamlet of Algezares lighting is out due to the storm.

3.05: calls from road cut and housing is flooding in Sangonera la Seca.

3.10: Several owners of vehicles are on the promenade of Thorns caught

4.15: Several vehicles stuck in the National 301 in the rotunda of the Isla Grossa.

4.31: Two people trapped in their vehicle at the end of Juan Carlos I in the direction round the Alcayna

4.41: Bilge water in a flooded house in Guadalupe

5.00: Several vehicles caught on Avenida Miguel Angel Blanco, which is flooded.

5.25: They break the pipes of a building Algezares and flood the garage.

5.28: a transformer explodes on Avenida Miguel Angel Blanco, leaving the area without power.

5.30: Vehicle trapped in Ronda Sur.

The driver warns that the water reaches the window.
