Equo RM by Murcia no bad fumes (18/11/2011)

In RM Equo sustainable mobility is one of the axes of the radical change that we propose to society, not just a fad or a greenwash.

Many of the members of the list of candidates we are users of alternative transport such as cycling or public transport and strong advocates for them.

But we go further, we focus on cities for people, designed to ensure the welfare, health and quality of life for its inhabitants.

Different cities where they have room for all generations, which recover the streets for people of all ages.

Therefore, we advocate strongly for a reduction of motorized traffic in the inner city by all the harm caused to the community: pollution, noise, loss of public space and individual expenditure involved.

We strive for compact cities that do not force unwanted mobility and to make citizens dependent on private vehicle pollutant, we recover the concept of the Mediterranean area where trade and local services are the backbone of community life.

Therefore, in our program include measures for limiting suburban shopping centers in the model impost imposed under the lure of a local enrichment already demonstrated precarious and fallacious.

We believe that development plans must be integrated into comprehensive development plans which provide for the common life, mobility and accessibility to everyday services.

We know that it is essential to strengthen public transport within the parameters of ecology and sustainability.

Public transport that actually connect to the population and will not aimed only at the centers of consumption, which is affordable to all people, and ensure the efficiency and convenience of use.

We firmly believe that the pedestrian and cycling can be key players in this transition required the mobility habits of the population and thus defend the increase in pedestrian areas and infrastructure to standardize the use of bicycles in safety: bike lanes when necessary and also traffic calmed areas and zones 30 in which the rider is a stimulus for a more friendly traffic.

Murcia meet climatic and geographical conditions that favor the use of this means of transport.

Therefore, from Equo Rm, we urge the City Council for immediate implementation of the Bicycle Master Plan of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is taking both.

We would also stress that these plans are a firm and decided by alternative transport and not just a sort of motorized traffic.

We support the allegations made to these plans by associations such as 'Murcia bike' or 'The South Coast also exist', and demand that they be taken into account in its final drafting.

To Equo sustainable mobility is not just a commitment to the welfare and ecology, but it sure can be an important factor for economic recovery.

We collect data from organizations such as encrypting ISTAS by 700,000 the number of jobs that can provide this sector.

Since the institutions defend the implementation of a Sustainable Mobility Act that promotes alternative transportation, bicycle, electric car and the electrification of urban public transport, to increase pedestrian areas, allowing for a friendly green taxation Ecomobility, that incorporates the rate of C02 and enhance commuter rail and freight.

Will demand a moratorium on major infrastructures Ave lines, new highways and airports to ensure proper distribution and dosage of the same and the transition from road freight to rail lines.

All these measures are fully consistent with our overall program which advocates a radical change in the production model in which renewable energy, green economy and the commitment to a more equitable and ecological taxation are the backbone of that change.

To do this, we consider indispensable the renewal of our democratic system where institutions are really the voice of citizens and revitalize citizen participation channels ranging from local to national.

We support measures to ensure transparency of all information from public bodies and political parties open to the public, with a strong fight against corruption in which the parties are jointly responsible with their defendants in such cases.

And, of course, political ecology and the defense of territory and diversity will be one of our claims collected across all of our proposals for changing the production model.

From Equo want to send a message of hope and hope because it is possible to respond to the economic crisis, political and ecological living from political ecology and social equity.

It is possible to restart the system, it is possible another way to produce and consume and may otherwise sustainable human life where we live in camps and cities "without unpleasant fumes."

Equo goes.
