Local Police detected a monthly average of 81 abandoned vehicles (16/11/2011)

Vehicles that are removed are those that are more than a month in public with withdrawal symptoms or two if they are in impoundments

Local police detected and managed from January to October this year a total of 810 abandoned vehicles, representing a monthly average of 81 cars.

These figures are similar to those of last year that were detected in 995.

Of these, were removed by default (after not having been collected by the owners) a total of 758, of which 371 were in impoundments and 387 in the street.

Another point to note is that 400 vehicles have been destroyed in these ten months of 2011.

With this service control and management of abandoned vehicles is intended to avoid the inconvenience and dangers causes such waste to the population.

This form is intended to ensure more parking spaces for vehicles that meet their administrative and contractual force, seeking a better quality of life among neighbors.

Vehicles are considered abandoned are:

Vehicles that are more than two months in municipal deposits for violations of standards of road safety, without the owner or operator to take charge of them.

Vehicles that are more than a month in public, either without identification (license plates) or withdrawal symptoms.

The procedure followed by the local police after discovering an abandoned vehicle is:

- The owner is notified of this situation and, if not removed within 30 days, would to be treated as municipal solid waste.

The failure to find the owner, and practice such notification will be published by content BORM edict, according to the law on Administrative Procedure.

- It is found that such vehicles have nothing pending in Police Station, as well as provincial traffic.

- It enhances the possibility of donating vehicles to the City, as it facilitates treatment and municipal solid waste without having to develop all the above process (saving time, effort and cost).

- In all cases, if the vehicle is not discharged, officially requested by the City.

- Finally, we proceed to the removal of vehicles by the concessionaire, following the guidelines established by local police, both local deposits as of road, at no cost to the City for treatment and municipal solid waste.
