National Police, along with the Inland Revenue, have been involved 213 kilos of cocaine that arrived in Spain in hidden among a shipment of artichokes.

The merchandise, from Cartagena de Indias, was intercepted at the Port of Valencia.

The group disbanded used the procedure known as "blind hook," which consists of introducing the drug in containers imported from South America without the owner are unaware of it.

In the operation have been arrested six people including a member of the State Security Forces whose mission within the organization was presumably to make security work and counter in the transactions.

600,000 euros were frozen in bank accounts and seized 16,000 euros in cash, three firearms and seven vehicles.

Drug introduced to the hook using the lost

The investigation began in late 2009 to be aware of the existence of an organization dedicated to the introduction and distribution of large quantities of cocaine hydrochloride in different parts of Spanish territory, including Ibiza.

In Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), the drug achieved 213 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a container carrying cans of artichokes.

They awaited the arrival of the goods at the port of Valencia, where presumably the drug trafficking organization had someone take charge of the goods.

Blocked 600,000 euros in bank accounts

After verifying that the shipment was in Spain established a comprehensive monitoring device around the group.

Three of them were arrested as they headed to the port facilities to collect the cocaine.

The head of the organization was arrested with two others on a floor of security they had in the vicinity of the port.

Among those arrested is a member of the State Security Forces who performed work for counter-drug trafficking organization.

Another of his tasks was to lecture the other members of criminal groups in safety measures to avoid detection in a possible police investigation.

There have been three homes in which they have participated, among them was the security floor.
