The Department of Public Highways, under the Department of Urban and Infrastructure Quality led by Ana Martinez Vidal, held last night maintenance work carried out annually in the tunnel of the Plaza de Castilla.
In particular, and to eliminate leaks in the tunnel, cleaned drainage pipes thereby preventing possible obstruction.
The tunnel has two networks of storm drain, one surface and one inside the tunnel and pumping station
To carry out this work was necessary to cut the rails out of town early in the morning trying in this way the least possible harm to traffic in the area.
This tunnel, 282 meters, linking the North with Round Round West, became operational in July 2004 and has reduced traffic in the area about 60%
