The doctoral dissertation at the University of Murcia by José María Cecilia Canales has proposed the use of the graphics card as a device of low cost and consumption for the development of unconventional algorithms.
These algorithms are designed to meet new scientific challenges of the XXI century, for taking inspiration from the behavior of biological systems such as the behavior of ant colonies or the interaction between cells.
The work, which has obtained excellent cum laude, can help solve scientific and industrial applications, including research cited in the simulation of the process of drug discovery and biological systems (eg, mussels zebra) to its eventual eradication.
The profeores Jose Manuel Garcia Carrasco, University of Murcia and Ujaldón Manuel Martinez, University of Malaga, has directed the thesis.
