Castro: "The PP forget the ordinary people" (25/10/2011)

The socialist mayor denounces the tax collection effort of the City of Murcia rising 3% for the main taxes paid by Murcia, and yet, does not establish any new bonus for families, which still apply the same, despite being regressive and not taking into account their social and economic circumstances

The PSOE Councillor Juan Patricio Castro accused the local government of insensitivity to the solo when approving a Fiscal Ordinance which stifle the ordinary citizens, up from 3% in the main we all pay taxes, as property tax or stamp of the car, and without establishing any type of bonus that will help to alleviate the economic situation of families Murcia.

Nothing for families

In this sense, Castro did not understand why the PP applies a new bonus for the benefit of a few, 90% for companies in development, construction and property development, and makes no new bonus for families.

Besides, the mayor insists the PSOE-existing bonuses have not suffered any type of modification and are regressive, do not take into account the social and economic circumstances of Murcia, even in times of crisis, where many families have economies resentful and even some of its members have become unemployed.

Weddings and regressive taxes domestic partnership registry

In line with the desire of the Consistory collector, Castro warned that the new rates that will apply PP, 195 € for civil wedding and 50 € for registration as a partner, have also been established without regard to income level or work circumstances of citizens, "a fact which again demonstrates the lack of attention of the CP to ordinary citizens."

Among the most expensive IBIS

As for the rise of IBI, the Socialist councilor noted that the municipality of Murcia is at number 9 out of 52 provincial capitals with the average rate of receipt of the Property Tax more expensive over Barcelona , Toledo, Valencia, Granada, Madrid, among others.

Also, Castro reports that the IBI tax rate to be applied in Murcia in 2012 is 0.727%, reaching just over 35 provincial capitals of all 52.

Neither support nor care for the garden

The local government have not been worried, says Castro, to study a possible modification of the IBI for all those orchards that are in the districts of the municipality and who are in agriculture or livestock, although the owners of these gardens pay an IBI as a solar city in the center of Murcia, but neither have adequate municipal services to this classification, and has served to prevent the illegally built on the orchard floor, where construction continues to be chaotic.

"These are clear examples of the indifference with which the PP has developed financial controls, regardless of the majority of ordinary citizens, who crowded with tax hikes and new fees and bonuses that do not renew and also are quite regressive "ends.
