The National Police arrested a resident of Palmar who is credited with the theft of copper wire worth 20,000 euros (21/10/2011)

Agents of the National Police Station belonging to the district of El Carmen, have arrested a resident of El Palmar, 43-year-old Spanish national, who is charged with the theft of a significant amount of copper wire from of public lighting facilities in the municipality of Murcia.

This arrest occurred within the devices provided by this Office in order to prevent theft of electrical equipment of this nature.

This type of theft dramatically hinder the provision of public services, cause a large economic loss, always exceeds the value of stolen material, and pose a risk to the public to also affect facilities such as road signs.

Thanks to these initiatives, including the control of places of possible sale of stolen material, researchers at the police station in El Carmen knew the identity of a resident of the hamlet of El Palmar had made sales of electrical equipment for possible illicit .

After making sure that a lot of copper wire that belong sold lighting system of the city, on day 19 of the current was carried out the arrest of the investigation and recovery of 64 kilograms of copper wire.

The practical steps that have shown disregard for the consequences of their actions and the brutality with which the cable is booted electrical installations pose a significant risk to the safety of citizens, as the plants are attacked and seriously damaged the open.
