Next Monday is projected at the University of Murcia "Heavy Metal", a classic animated film (20/10/2011)

Comicum, the program Comic Vice President for University Extension coordinated by the Murcian artist Juan Alvarez, presents the film "Heavy Metal", a film that revolutionized the concept of animated films in the early 80's, adopting a formula which departed diametrically from what had been done before in this area and it was not a knock on the relationship between animation and comic books.

"Heavy Metal", now converted into a cult film, was one of the first animated film for adults, very different from the film of this kind was being done to date.

Took the title of the journal American comic of the same name and focused on science fiction adventure comic inspired by some of the most renowned authors of the moment, as Richard Corben and Juan Gimenez, authors of that publication, incorporating also a soundtrack, which came together the best bands of the moment.

After the screening, the audience can chat with Antonio Zurera, director of animated films and won a Goya in 2003 for "Dragon Hill".

Zurera is currently co-director, along with Angel Izquierdo, Cartoons Millimeters studies, which since the 80's has produced numerous animated films for the big screen and television series.

The activity will take place in the Hall of the faculty of law degrees from the University of Murcia on Monday, October 24, at 19 hours.
