The program offers nearly a dozen DiVerde activities in the last quarter

The gardens of the town and parishes will become fun and entertaining classroom ecology on Saturday morning.

The Department of Environment launched for the 2011-2012 academic year a proposed environmental education activities in gardens aimed at families and especially children ages 6 to 14 years.

"Urban Ecology Classroom: DiVerde" is a learning program that encourages citizen participation in public through educational activities, games and animation in order to foster an approach to urban environment.

The gardens of Murcia capital and districts will provide the ideal environment for through highly participatory dynamic, families and especially children, have a space for constructive leisure and values ​​to work with the environment more supportive environment.

The major issues to deal with urban ecology are water, waste, energy, mobility, noise, responsible consumption, air pollution, urban nature and environmental protection at home, consumption, among most prominent.

Topics that they will offer participants a series of activities related to knowledge of the urban environment, promoting positive habits and behaviors towards conservation of the environment in which we live.

All these issues will be worked through small talks and workshops, and of demonstration, games and gymkhanas, always depending on the issues that will be developed.

There will be workshops with waste material, experiments with water, solar energy demonstration activities, storytelling and thematic green gymkhanas, visits to museums, among other activities.

The types of proposals are varied, and adapt to environmental resources, we will investigate who live in the river and its uses through history, will be taught unique customs and traditions of the municipality, traditional games (bowling, comets), the traditional irrigation system and its devices (ditches, primers, mills, etc.), the use of hemp, or the secrets of silk production, is explained by dynamic games and the diversity of plant and animal species gardens, etc..

A new feature also arises out of the gardens the traveling exhibition "Murcia ecology of a city" which has held 16 years in schools and municipal associations and reflects an approach to the municipality of Murcia, their needs and environmental problems.
