Approved the specifications for the servicing of more than 88,000 streetlights in the municipality (13/10/2011)

Runs for four years and includes staff subrogation current concessionaire

The Governing Board has given its approval to the specifications of the "Service Street Lighting Maintenance and Periodic Inspection of Electrical Installation Facilities and Ownership Transformation Centers," which includes 88,167 points of light in the municipality

This contract includes maintenance of all the elements that form the public lighting facilities, including replacement of lamps fails.

Also in the specification reflects the obligation to subrogate to all personnel currently assigned to the service, amounting to about 80 people.

Thus, the concessionaire will be responsible for carrying out the work drive the daily work, monitoring and control of facilities and replacement of materials, lamps and troubleshooting, and general all operations that require preservation and maintenance of Lighting Network and inspection tasks, control and maintenance.

The contractor will perform the maintenance, repair or replacement of fixtures, as well as all its components, both mechanical and electrical, envelope, close, reflector, ballast, capacitor, lamp, wiring and connections, control equipment and energy saving, power food, and any other original.

Also included in the specifications the requirement that the contractor take the necessary maintenance of the various events that the City perform on a regular basis throughout the year, as Spring Festival, Christmas celebrations in September, Easter ...

The specification also states that the concessionaire will have to inspect electrical installations in buildings of municipal ownership.

Also considered of interest to the City all actions to achieve an improvement in energy efficiency by assessing the following types of improvements:

- Performances in the street lighting facilities to be obtained with greater energy and environmental efficiency without causing impairment of the quality of service and which are not implemented in existing facilities.

- Performances in the ornamental lighting installations in which, applying the latest technologies, leading to higher efficiency and improved quality.

- Performances in the local municipal facilities with which to obtain greater energy efficiency without causing impairment of the quality of service.

The contractor also conducts inspections necessary for the proper functioning of street lighting, generating all the appropriate party, in order to find states and situations that may cause deficits in service, reductions in the economic life of the facilities, damage or depreciation in the equipment used or accidents to persons and things or any other item that may alter the normal operation of the facility.

Thus, daytime inspections shall consist essentially in the review of facilities for the detection of situations or malfunctions that are hardly noticeable at night, such as status of: media, painting, cleaning of all elements, doors and columns of staffs , cabinets, lighting, command centers, media connections and facades, overhead and underground lines and, in general, all elements and components of lighting installations.

Similarly inspections will be conducted Monday through Friday night in the town and twice a month in each of the districts, all of the points of light in each area, thus creating a part of those who are out of service.

The working day will be Monday to Sunday inclusive.

These shifts cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The new contract runs for four years, starting next January 1 or 15 days after its signing.
