The Socialist Group calls for more political background to the Councillor for Tourism and less cosmetic (30/09/2011)

The PSOE mayor Andrea Garries denounces the lack of seriousness of the Department of Tourism presented a series of performances on Tuesday with the sole aim of justifying the International Tourism Day.

"We are pleased that after 16 years, the PP government has finally realized the importance of this sector to the economy of the municipality, but we hope to be clear that, by adding the word tourism to the logo and rename a domain, no more visitors will come to our city, "says Garries.

Thus, the Socialist councilor was pleased that the Department of Tourism to promote our town bet on social networks.

"Better late than never, though still not solved the underlying problems."

Heritage, Huerta, Culture and Trade Center

It also reminds Garries Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, that "to conduct a serious and rigorous work is necessary to define a catalog of tourist products to be promoted and put in value our heritage and foster care la Huerta as a prime tourist attraction, boosting trade in the center and regenerating the city's cultural life. "

Similarly, the PSOE mayor asks Cascales to meet with the social partners to set a clear course of action and objectives before you go announcing the proposals of the plan 'Murcia 365', whose actions were designed before opening a period of work and discussion with restaurateurs, entrepreneurs and experts from the tourism sector.

"We fear that this plan will be a marketing operation and will remain a dead letter."

Finally, Garries requested the City Council to coordinate the tourism of the municipality in the Autonomous Region for best results.
