Murcia City Council continues to promote physical exercise to the program 4 / 40 (30/09/2011)

The campaign slogan is "Take the first step, watch your health" and developed several districts of the municipality.

The campaign starts on Monday, October 3 on the Malecon, at 20 hours.

Municipal Health Services continue to develop program activities to promote physical activity with the launch of the group 4 / 40 in Beniaján, Malecón, La Alberca, Infante, Ronda Sur and Javalí New.

With the slogan "Take the first step, TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH", the Department of Social Welfare and Health, who leads Mary Carmen Pelegrin, Murcia offers citizenship to keep company, for which they are encouraged to join groups 4 / 40 .

These activities of Health Promotion Municipal Health Services, offers residents walking 4 days a week, 40 minutes each day, with the aim of improving their health, reduce heart disease, reduce high blood pressure, cholesterol , obesity, overweight, increase flexibility, improve diabetes and mood.

Los grupos 4/40 son conducidos por monitores profesionales y/o voluntariado formado en los cursos de formación realizados por los Servicios municipales de Salud.

La Concejalía de Sanidad continúa trabajando para que los vecinos y vecinas de Murcia mejoren su salud, con el fomento de una actividad física tan beneficiosa y económica como es el salir a caminar de forma regular.

Los objetivos de la actividad son los siguientes:

- Facilitar la práctica regular de la actividad física en grupo, favoreciendo el encuentro vecinal.

- Fomentar la adquisición de hábitos que favorezcan estilos de vida saludables, en concreto el de caminar de forma regular.

- Desarrollar capacidades para el autocuidado.

- Promover el compromiso grupal y el fortalecimiento de las redes comunitarias.

El programa está dirigido a adultos sin límite de edad, cuyo estado de salud les permita la realización de actividad física moderada, ya menores acompañados por adultos.
