In order to continue working on improving environmental quality in the municipality of Murcia, Murcia City Council, through the departments of Urban Quality, Environment and Transport, who run Life Ana Martínez, Adela Martinez and Javier Cachá Iniesta, respectively, will lend their assistance to the Construction Technology Centre of the Region of Murcia (CTCON) to carry out the development of an environmental improvement project in the municipality of Murcia, and especially in urban areas.

A nonprofit center that is conducting very important work in the field of scientific research, training and technological development.
The head of Urban and Infrastructure Quality has noted further that the cooperation of the City of Murcia with the Construction Technology Centre of the Region, which is done without incurring financial costs for the city, not only will focus on building a sustainable new asphalt, but also will bring benefits as important as enhancing the R & D & I business, as it will assist companies that want to incorporate new technologies, improve the technological knowledge of local technicians, through training and participation in innovative experiences, involve citizens in the knowledge of new technologies greener and safer.
Murcia City Council wishes to add, once again, another initiative that contributes to achieving the environmental objectives laid down in the European Union by 2020, and that focus, among other environmental benefits, as follows: reduce 20 % reduction in greenhouse gases, to achieve 20% energy savings and also use 20% renewable energy.
The project will carry out the Construction Technology Centre of the Region of Murcia is focused on the development of decontamination bituminous asphalt to build environmentally-sustainable.
The said project aims to reduce the concentration of NOx, CO2 COV'sy in urban areas with high concentrations of these components, by applying a new type of mix that meets all current regulations and which has the capacity for decontamination because of the photocatalytic properties of the materials to be added to the mix, reducing them to nitrates, nitrites and cabornatos, resulting in environmental benefits that can be applied in the future.
The cooperation of the City of Murcia not only focus on facilitating the Construction Technology Centre of the Region of Murcia a heavy traffic road of the municipality to undertake that project, but also will work on developing activities for training, scientific research and technological development, technical assistance and technology support, to contribute actively to this objective the City Council to encourage and promote research and innovation in the municipality of Murcia.
