The town of Puerto Lumbreras host from 4 to 8 July, the "Second Scientific Conference for over 50" through lectures and practical workshops will familiarize students with some of the leading scientists Murcia, fundamentals of toxicology will provide home or how to apply chemistry in everyday life.
In short, the course will give students the opportunity to become acquainted with various branches of science and technology through informative talks, workshops and recreational and cultural activities.
This activity is part of the programming of the Sea International University-Campus Mare Nostrum.
According to Antonio Guirao Piñera, a professor at the University of Murcia and course director, "The segment of the population of people over 50 years has demonstrated a growing interest in maintaining their continuing education throughout life."
In his opinion, these conferences are an offer for those students who want to "broaden its scientific and cultural training from informative approach and next."
The course is aimed, as manifest "that the participants discover that behind each act or situation that hides a scientific concept and linking scientific and technological well-being and social progress."
The sessions include a wide range of recreational and cultural activities, including several workshops with tips to correct vision problems, the symmetry around us or chemical experiences in everyday life.
On the other hand, course participants have the opportunity to visit the castle of Puerto Lumbreras, take a trip botany, an astronomical observatory observing or participating in an exhibition of scientific experiments before collecting their diplomas and fire for the course with a concert of some of the candidates to participate in the LI Festival del Cante de las Minas.
Registration will begin until June 28.
