More than 2,000 school children participate in the campaign "I can also be supportive" (16/06/2011)

Solidarity and voluntary work among young children, priorities of action for Social Services

The Office of Volunteer Services Center "Murcia Sur" belonging to the Department of Health and Social Services City of Murcia, María del Carmen Pelegrin directs, has been developing since 2000, various activities to raise awareness and encourage solidarity and volunteerism.

For the sixth consecutive year, has conducted a public awareness campaign to promote solidarity aimed primarily at children under the motto: "I can also be supportive."

The awards ceremony took place this morning at the Plenary Hall of the City of Murcia and in addition to the Councillor of Social Services, was also present responsible for education and libraries, Lola Sanchez.

A total of 139 teachers have participated and 2101 students between 6 and 9 years old (1,465 freshmen and 636 second cycle and third cycle students).

The campaign extends to all schools in the territory of the Center for Social Services "Murcia Sur", and in 2101 she has attended school first, second and third primary cycle from 17 CEIP's in the area.

Students in first and second primary cycle have worked a booklet in which foster solidarity actions that can be carried out in their immediate environment.

This booklet is work values ​​such as responsibility, fairness, honesty, friendship, generosity, respect, tolerance, among other values.

Postgraduate students have worked in groups, a dossier that contained various scenes of daily life in which a child can be supportive.

These scenes reflect the photographs that the children are collaborating with colleagues in school, family and community.

These dossiers, with photographs, have been valued by experts from the Department of Health and Human Services awarded first prize to the group "Supersolidarios" CEIP Fuertes (El Palmar).

The prize is a trip to Valencia for the entire course of the winning team will visit the Oceanographic Museum and the Hemisferic Prince Felipe.

The team won second prize, was the group "The Fantastic 4" CEIP Aljucer Sculptor González Moreno, will be rewarded with a trip to Terra Natura Theme Park in Benidorm, which involved the entire course.
